I beg to pardon with this comment of Utica giving away 112,000 dollars, you are not giving anything away and when you reduce this credit, the tax payor is still paying the other municipality the same amount and you will collect another 0.5% from us. I now pay 2% to another city I work in, I get a 1 % credit from Utica's 1.75% tax, this equals 2.75% I pay to the combined cities for income tax. So if Utica reduces my 1% credit, that means I will now get a credit of 0.5%. So I will now be paying 3.25% to the combined cities. Why do I have to pay an increase to live in Utica when people living in Utica working or not do not have an increase in their taxes. Now add the additional school tax that only earned income people are required to pay in our district and now I am up to 4.5%. Add the Federal, State, Social Security and Medicare taxes and I am at a point, that barely leaves me enought to pay my medical, dental insurance and gas to get me to work to pay all of my taxes. It seems somewhat lopsided and unfair to me. Maybe I should move out of town a quarter of a mile or so.
