Except for complicated problems??? Anything that requires a hospital visit is a complicated problem and anything more than a festered splinter is a complicated problem for KCH. I have visited the ER on 2 occasions. The 1st one I asked a nurse why the bathroom was so dirty (and I mean filthy) and her response was "housekeeping will clean it on Sunday". On the 2nd visit, I was there for support of a friend and needless to say it was worse. Rude staff, dirty facility, etc. etc. etc......

I am a retired RN, and have seen many facilities. In addition, I have been a patient in KCH on several occasions. I am amazed at the quality of care, as well as the cleanliness and infection control procedures utilized by KCH. This facility has made tremendous improvements in the last several years. Because of the many types of patients treated in the Columbus hospitals, I feel the chance of a hospital acquired infection is a much greater possibility there. Also, in a large teaching hospital, your surgeon will most likely be a resident who is learning how to do surgery. At least here, you know your doctor is doing the surgery. Except for complicated problems, I would choose KCH anytime. Bigger is not always better.

What? I hope you're smarter than that. Your dog wouldn't get the necessary care at a hospital for humans. That is by far the most absurd thing I've read.

I feel sorry for your dog.
