I live on West Vine Street and speeding cars are not the only problem. The load exhausts are also an issue.

I agree with the previous person when the police do the same thing how can they be taken seriously. Do not give me the reason that they were speeding is they were responding to calls because not all the time are they. They have been spotted speeding in the West end themselves. One night I had my portable scanner on and was nearly ran off the road by a cop who was speeding past me no lights on just flying down Chestnut Street. My passenger could not believe it either. The police officer had to be going atleast 50 mils per hour…I tried to get the car number but it was a blur. I think sometimes that there are cases when the right hand doesn’t know what the left hand is doing. I have also seen then speeding down Chestnut towards Riverside park after dark with NO lights on…and by that I mean no HEADLIGHTS even. Now that is a no brainer on how dangerous that is.

I would have a couple of ideas:
- have MVPD focus on driving behavior, instead ONLY broken brakelights. When a car runs a read light in front of an officer or forces a police car out of the lane the driver should be pulled over immediately, not ignored.
- set clear speed limit signs. Especially in the old part of town I often don’t know whether it is 25 or 35 mph. I suspect that signs are missing?
- set the traffic lights to where they support the speed limit, this is practiced successfully in other parts of the country. The traffic light at McKenzie and Chestnut is red so often – without any cars waiting – that I am surprised that it is not run more often.
And how many cop cars follow the speed limits themselves????
No wonder MVPD is not taken seriously.
