MOUNT VERNON — It might still be technically summer but the Mount Vernon News and the Heritage Centre Association are ready to ring in the holiday cheer with a change in the annual Christmas Parade and Christmas Walk.

I 100 % agree with Bailey’s comment above…. Attendance will go down to the parade….

While possibly well intended, moving the “Christmas” parade to Sunday is not convenient for those who celebrate Christ every week rather than once a year. Christians, worship on Sundays. Having the parade on Sunday will eliminate participation by those who choose not to miss meeting in their Church Sunday Morning and evening services.
If this is a Christmas parade, honor Christ by observing the Lords Day. Otherwise call this a holiday parade not a Christmas parade.
