Schuesselin – actually, I “believe,” although the administrative hearing was not covered by the school’s insurance, if the decision goes against Freshwater and is appealed to the Court level, the insurance will kick in for any subsequent legal battles, as it has in both pending Federal Court cases.

He didn’t, which is an act of insubordination. With his others acts involving his students, he was found correctly by the BOE to have violated his contract and was therefor subject for dismissal, and he was. The BOE acted properly and had to play their hand or lose future disputes with teachers who would use this as presentient. Freshwater and Hamilton didn’t have a case to begin with and I’m sure Hamilton warned him early of his chances and what it was going to cost him. Freshwater gambled and lost in the name of religion. My only question is why did Hamilton become so emotionally involved he put his professional reputation on the line. Did he become so attached he forgot his professional code of ethics? That’s another matter for the Court to decide.
