I stand corrected Erik. The adult classes are not offered by the Mt. Vernon School system. However, they are held in a public school building.

The Knox County Adult Career Center is an entity separate from the Mount Vernon City Schools.

The prayer meeting was held in a private location. The gambling “class” will be held in a public school. The same public school system that is currently spending hundreds of thousands of dollars to prosecute a teacher who supposedly taught (gasp) religion in the classroom. The fairness of what the newspaper chooses to report on had nothing to do with my original statement.

I think this is ridiculous. Who are the casinos going to hire? Somebody with 10 years experience in these card games from out of OhioQQQQQQQQQ so they don’t lose money! It’s just another way for the career center to get more federal money to do another get back to work class.

Interesting that it is OK to teach gambling in our schools but not religion. Just another sign of the times.
