I wholeheartedly agree with Matt, I would go a little farther and put shops or appartments on top floor- two floors of parking and develope third floor for easy acceess from garage- but get a different contrator than the one that did 5 N. Gay

At a bare minimum, the site should, after demolition, be covered with plantings. Extend a line of trees down both Main and Vine streets to keep the strong lines formed by the building frontage. Install some shrubs and benches on the site. DON’T just let it become surface parking. Don’t repeat the mistakes of the Blue-Ash Plaza down the street. We do NOT want another mistake like that in town.

I would rather the shell be saved and reused. I’m not an engineer, so my opinion on whether that’s possible doesn’t matter. But I hope that somebody has at least explored that possibility.

I think the city should purchase the lot and build a parking garage. With MNVU and COTC opening up downtown parking is needed. Perhaps more parking might even increase business to the downtown area as well.
