MOUNT VERNON — On a large video screen in the Mount Vernon Municipal Court, alleged kidnapper Matthew J. Hoffman could be seen on live video feed participating in the proceedings from the Knox County Jail Tuesday afternoon as his bond was set at $1 million by Judge Paul Spurgeon.

    his bond needs to be REVOKED in light of the new events before some rich a-hole having the same opinion as Plain Jim up there decides to post the $1 mil

    If I had the Million Bucks I’d put up the bond money and drop that scumbag off in the town square with a fur coat and antlers. Then I would let nature take her course…

    I know Bruce and I am sorry he is saddled with this as Public Defender.
    It is not his choice but rather a requirement of his position.

    They say he is under a suicide watch. Cancel the suicide watch, give him a rope and put him in a cell with overhead sprinkler pipes.
    Save the people of Knox county the pain and expense of a trial.

    $1,000,000 bond sounds a tad high for an alleged offense with a ten year max.

    I do not know Mr. Malek, but his request appears reasonable.
