MY HEART GOES OUT TO THE FAMILES AND THE ENTIRE COMMUNITY. SUCH A TRAGIC AND SENSELESS END FOR 2 MOTHERS, ESPECIALLY FOR THE YOUNG BOY. THANK GOD THEY FOUND THE LITTLE GIRL, BUT I AM SURE, HER LIFE WILL NEVER BE THE SAME. THIS IS A SAD REMINDER OF HOW FRAGILE LIFE REALLY IS, AND HOW SOMEONE CAN TAKE ANOTHERS LIFE AT RANDOM WILL, IS DEPLORABLE. THIS BARBAROUS MONSTER WILL PAY FOR HIS ACTIONS TO THESE INNOCENT VICTIMS, ONE WAY OR ANTOHER. MEN IN JAIL/PRISON, FOR JUST REASONS, DON’T LIKE CHILD MURDERER’S.

An absolute tragic story. Im glad this animal was caught. They should fry him asap. One note on a quote from Dr Ogle‚Ä¶‚ÄùThanking law enforcement for their ‚Äúincredible and heroic work,‚Äù Ogle said ‚Äúthe story of Sarah Maynard‚Äôs rescue will forever be remembered as an example of extraordinary detective work and bravery.‚Äù ‚Ä¶Uh‚Ä¶I dont think I would use the words ‚Äúincredible and heroic work,‚Äù or ‚Äúextraordinary detective work‚Äù. What im getting at is if this animal wasnt sitting in his car, watching the police investigate the truck he dropped off, they never would have noticed him and we would probably would still be looking for this creep and the daughter probably would be dead also. Not putting down the police because I know they put in alot of man hours on this case, just stating the fact that we would probably still be looking if this murderous thug hadnt been sitting in his car at the scene of an investigation. They got lucky on this one. As far as Sarah, I can only hope she gets through this ok. She’s got a long way to go. Im not sure she will ever realize or understand how lucky she is.

Seems to me that the boyfriend made statements to the effect that Tina sent him a text early Thursday morning that she had fed the dog. According to the report she would have been dead by then. Why would Hoffman send such a text? Something doesn‚Äôt add up.

Irregardless of whether you care for the comments being made or not, the reality is, the community and you could even say the state is reeling from this horrible senseless crime. People are processing their emotions, and feelings right now, and yes, some are incredibly angry, with good reason. I too, am a Christian, but that doesn’t stop me from thinking of some cruel and vicious justice for this sick horrible man. I realize that isn’t going to bring back those three wonderful people, or make things better for Sarah, or heal this community. But they are MY feelings, and as the community heals and time goes by, yes, I may feel guilty I felt so hateful and revengeful, BUT again they are my process and its my time to heal as its everyone’s else’s feelings and time as well. You might not want to hear their comments, but its part of their healing and grieving process and they have a right to say how they feel. It may change with time, but it may not, but that is between them and their God or themselves however they believe, They don’t have to answer to You, or anyone else. This is a forum for expression, if the newspaper deems the comments inappropriate they will not publish it, but they too understand people need to grieve and if lashing out helps that, then its a part of the process.

I think that this is what that sick o wanted a town… no a nation talking about him wondering about his in’s and out of state of mind… he wanted to be noticed and didn’t care if it was for the good or wrong reasons… by us talking about how sick and evil he is we are just giving him what he wants! I say we should focus now on the victims not just the three who lost their lives… God is with them now! but those who are still here with us who are suffering the lost such as the little girl :( we should give them words of hope and strength to keep going each and every day! let them know that there are still really good and wholesome people in this world… talking about barbaric ways to make this guy suffer isn’t the talk we need now. we should keep that stuff to ourselves… but give words of up lifting spirits… in a time of darkness! Should help our fellow neighbors who knew the three souls that parted from us… lend our hands in support… sorry for rambling on but thats how I feel :(

My heart goes out to the families of the victims and to the people of Knox County. Death by murder always leaves one shocked, but as details emerge from the cororner’s report, I am particularly disturbed and sickened. Though this will scar Ms. Herrmann’s daughter forever, I pray that she will be able some day to resume some semblance of a “normal” life.

To the people of Knox County, if you can take anything positive from this horrific event, it’s that you pulled together and showed all of us the true definition of community. Your concern, care, and participation in the search was amazing. – A Licking County resident
