MOUNT VERNON — During a budget meeting with the Knox County Commissioners on Monday, representatives from the Knox County Veterans Service Office and commission demanded $58,291 which the commissioners left out of the VSO's 2011 budget.

    Guess I do not understand how an entity such as the VOA can demand commissioners put funding in their budget. n Is the VOA a county agency ? ( I believe it is) And if it is, how can they make demands on how much funding they receive? n Can other government agencies demand funding also?n Am just curious.
