Jeld-wen has been spiraling downward ever since they started promoting and retaining under performers based upon relationships rather than looking at contribution and performance. A lot of expertise has exited JW and they are left with a bunch of “me” people, which the Mount Vernon facility is a prime example of this. Don’t look for the window division to be around in the foreseeable future.

All that is so impressive (not), except for the recent layoff and a grim report of Jeld-Wen’s prospect for the future in a letter my son received just a few days ago. So once again politicians are blow’n smoke up our butts and patting them selves on the back for nothing. I hope they don’t get tendonitis or torn rotatorcuffs…

Rhetoric meets reality: Knox County just voted out a representative, Zack Space, who supported the act that brought this economic activity while voting in a new representative, Bob Gibbs, who opposed this act. That’s right; the guy who opposed tax breaks and bringing more business to Knox County is taking a seat in Congress tomorrow.
