A wintry mix of precipitation is expected tonight. A little snow or patchy freezing rain is possible this evening…but the steadier precipitation will occur after midnight. Precipitation could start as a period of snow…but all precipitation will change over to freezing rain overnight. The light freezing rain will likely impact the morning rush hour and then linger through much of the morning…before temperatures rise above the freezing mark. A tenth of an inch or less of freezing rain is expected.

Precautionary/preparedness actions

A freezing rain advisory is issued when icing is expected in the affected areas, but not enough to damage trees and power lines. Instead, however…icy conditions are expected to develop that may make travel difficult…especially on untreated roads. Motorists should allow extra time for the morning commute.
