I agree. My husband hasn’t had a raise in four years! We’re just happy that he still has a job. Oh and we pay 45% of the health insurance costs, so state employees, cry me a river. It’s time the unions realize states aren’t able to pay the perks their members have enjoyed through the years. If you suck at your job you should be fired, there are plenty who would be more than willing to take your place. Talk about a bunch a babies >:I

Times have changed as much as we may not like it. With double digit increases in health insurance premiums and the flat economy which has basically eliminated pay raises for the majority of working people recently it is not realistic to think that tax payers, union and non-union should be expected to continue to pay for the entire cost of benefits for public employees.nI understand that having something taken away that has been guaranteed in the past is not enjoyable, but the reality of today is that companies, states, and our nation cannot afford to live in the 1960′s. The majority of working people are required to contribute towards their own health insurance and retirement benefits, then contribute to pay for those same benefits that public employees enjoy at no cost because it is part of their “collective bargaining” package. It is time for all of us to play on a level field.

i dont think the people who wish to pass this bill are ready for the consequences…ie it is the unions who got employers to provide insurance…and without the employers footing the majority of the insurance money the insurance lobbiests wont be able to take them on luxury crusies any morenn
