2011-05-02 T1315 -0400nu00b6 It is interesting how the “rural” Mount Vernon News consistently outperforms the “big city” media.nu00b6 Note that the offense is driving under the influence and not “drunk” driving.nu00b6 As I recall, c. 1915 or so, the 5th District (Licking Co.) commented on the term “drunk” nu00b6 To my lay knowledge there does not exist a state offense against “drunk” driving.nu00b6 If one imbibes a beverage containing sufficient alcohol AND consumes a prescribed medication that depresses the central nervous, then there is the problem of an additive effect (1+1=2); or worse, an effect that acts synergistically (1+1=2 or more!).nu00b6 Either way, it can impact a driver and his or here family with consequences never intended, including a charge of aggravated vehicular manslaughter or a wrongful death civil action. nu00b6 If you insist on imbibing and mixing other drugs, first consult your attorney and someone well versed in pharmacokinetics.npharmacokinetics n. nu00b6 1. The process by which a drug [or combination] is absorbed, distributed, metabolized, and eliminated by the body.nu00b6 2. The study of this process.

No. Every day I suffer learning that there is so much I do not know and there is no way to “catch up.”nnI did not mention the problem when the victim is not killed, but is in otherwise good health excepting the quadriplegia.
