Our second Amd. right to bare arms was intended for us to protect ourselves from a tyrannical government, and the way things are looking , it seems to me that our forefathers had enough foresight to see that we would one day need to invoke that right. Just as they said to never let government become to large, never let a private bank control our money, and if tyranny comes to this land it will be in the guise of a foriegn enemy. Please leave our gun rights alone!!!

People who support gun control issues are weak and are making excuses for the lack of personal accountability. Stop making excuses for people who cannot live by the rules of society. They need to be punished severely according to the severity of their crime.

Why is there even a debate on this? We have something called the Bill of Rights that solved this discussion years ago. It seems to me that the “divide” is only between people who respect the Constitution and people who want to tread all over it.

Guns don’t kill people. People kill people. Guns are not the problem lack of a deterrent for crimes is the root of the issue. Think how many horrible crimes would not happen if the “bad” guy knew the victim might have a gun and knew how to use it.

One of the most tragic and violent crimes in knox county lately did not involve guns. nGuns are not the problem – bad people are the problem. nThe sooner we all agree to this fact in our society the sooner our society will improve. nBad people and their profound evil actions need to be addressed not Gun control.nLet’s get it straight – personal responsibility for actions is the root of all issues and improvement in society. nWhat is so tough about defining this other than the political need to obscure truth!nWe need leaders in this country not politicians.

There was not a *single* question asked by anyone that was in favor of some form of gun control. What does that tell you about the support for such ideas in Mount Vernon?

fact is that the most horiffic murders have occured recently and locally and didnt involve the use of firearms…or has everyone forgotten allready?….an armed society is a polite society….2nd amendment trumps 1st!
