MOUNT VERNON — Six school districts in the area had levy issues on the May ballot, and only one is celebrating today — the Loudonville-Perrysville Exempted School District.

    To the people who voted “no” – shame on younnThere was an interesting/excellent idea presented on Knox Pages today – it suggested that all who voted for the levy donate the funds they would have paid had the levy passed. I think it was agreed that the average increase in property taxes would be approximately $183.50 a year.nnTo Steve Short, Administrators, Teachers, Aides who believe the children of our community deserve a quality education? nnIf you will pledge to pay that $183.50 out of your pocket each year to avoid what could be catastrophic consequences to our youths’ educational tools, I’ll show up at your next Board meeting with $183.50 and hand it over to the school system, to do my part.nnAny takers?
