MV board approves staff reductions

MOUNT VERNON — The Mount Vernon Board of Education met in a special meeting on Monday to approve proposed staff reductions expected to save the district $1.5 million.

    That wasn’t so painful now…was it? When citizens have to struggle to get by, government supported concerns should be reducing their burden on citizens at the same time instead of asking for more. I am sorry that anyone has to lose their positions but not any more sorry than for the thousands of privately employed citizens who have lost their job, including me. What goes around comes around…as it should be for taxpayer supported institutions.
