Citizens are not against taxes or levies, citizens are against waste of taxes and levies. There is certainly a lot more “fat” that can be cut before extracurricular activities are just completely cut. I believe the treasurer of North Fork Schools makes almost 6 figures annually????????? If true, you can see what I mean.

People go to jail for blackmail and extortion, so should school board members who employ these tactics.u00a0

u00a0Oh brother – you people vote against levies then whine when cuts are made – you get what you paid for – nothing – of COURSE extracurriculars were cut – schools are in place to educate and prepare kids for after high school, not be a convenient babysitting serviceu00a0nnsuck it up and deal with it – or vote “yes” on the next levy placed on the ballot

Northfork Needs all new board members who take it out on students and there sports when they dont get there way by the voters your not board members your strong arming the voters thru our kids. Back off and cut your own excess spending before you take it out on our kids who are there for an education without politics as usual .u00a0u00a0

Maybe its time in Utica to fully replace the entire Board of Education with new membersu00a0to resolve the finance of the school and not everytime they think they need money and don’t get there way they just eliminate sports as a way of punishing the kids they are trying to educate. Some educational program you promote. Why don’t you instead get rid of all your extra staffing or over staffing. Areu00a0 you passing the grade of educators or just money greedy board members who only do things to help your kids and grand kids instead of the entire district school kids? Things are tuff all over have extracurricular activities and cut spending in other areas, sports teach manners, respect and hard work will payoff in rewards for the kids We didnt have the plush schools your board has built and we had one Principal per school building and one sec. who worked for more than one person. Put principals back to teaching again and make board members attend classes and sport practices they might learn some education them selves.
