Gentle Readerrs,

Below is a URL to the 4-3 dismissal for Stern's lying. Not one keystroke in the major newspapers.

Mr. Stern also whined when the Supreme Court
of Ohio ruled 7-0 that a defendant who kills a person in PA must not be
tried in OH for that homicide, affirming the appeals court's reversal
of conviction. PA had recommended to OH that PA try the defendant, before OH tried him!

SYLLABUS: Attorneys at law—Conduct involving dishonesty, deceit, fraud, or misrepresentation—False
statement to disciplinary investigators that meeting was not being
recorded—Unique circumstances warranting dismissal of charge.
(No. 2004-0106–Submitted May 25, 2004–Decided November 3, 2004.)
ON CERTIFIED REPORT by the Board of Commissioners on Grievances and
Discipline of the Supreme Court, No. 02-76.

¶ IMLO, Mr. Tressel's biggest error was in the way he handled questions.
¶ Instead of lying late in the year, he should have asked, "Why do you ask?".
¶ He could then add, "Those are good questions. Let me run them by my attorney. Here's her/his card."
¶ Tricky Richard and Martha Stewart, among many others, made similar errors.

With a coach with about a 5 to 1 win loss record, why would someone not support him. He'll certainly be missed. I agree with Naples that it sounds like he tried to comply, but it abviously wasn't timely enough to not be a violation. It's really a shame he wasn't quicker to announce what he knew and these type of violations are very serious and must be complied with, which he also most certainly knew. I just question what the Athletic Director knew and when. This will damage Ohio States reputation for a long time and will cause us to be more tightly monitored for many years, although with a new coach this should help us to get beyond this I'm know I'm being unfair to the interim coach, but I don't have much confidence this will be a very good year for OSU football.

This has gone back as far as 2002! The rules either need to be changed or the coach(s) and players need to abide by the rules. No in between. So since it appears Coach Tressel is 'guilty', he should have resigned.
