I worked in the snack bar at the Delaware Walmart. I had turned the tv off for about 5 minutes when one of the people greeters came in and told me what had happened. We turned the tv back on and within a very few minutes the second plane hit. I think I went into shock. I later found out that our home office had told all the store managers that if any of the associates got upset, they were to send us home. My manager at the time name was Jim. I never forgave him for making me work. He even made the lead the Walmart cheer. I pray something this bad never happens again, but if it does, and if a manager tells me to lead the cheer, I am going to say the Lord’s Prayer.

I was sitting in my first grade classroom. I remember the teacher stopped class and turned on the news to see details about it. I didn’t really understand what was really going on at the time, but now that I have learned about 9/11, it’s very devistating.

I was watching the Today Show on NBC and watched it all unfold on the NY skyline which was the live backdrop behind Matt Lauer and Katie Couric.

I was in Columbus for a couple Drs appointments and as we waited between
appointments, we went to the target store. As we browsed we noticed a
bunch of people at th back watching the TV displays and we walked back
to see what they were watching. At that time the first tower had just
fallen.

I was an office assistant at the middle school, I remember going back to the office after taking some things to a teacher and seeing it as it happened on a tv

When I saw on tv what was happening, I tried to call our daughter in NYC. All circuits were busy so all I could do was keep trying and wait. I knew she took the train right by the WTC and that she sometimes would leave early so she could stop there and shop at a place called Strawberry. I called my husband and told him I couldn’t get her on the phone and would call him the minute I heard from her. When the call finally came, I was so relieved and grateful, but at the same time, I was grieving along with the nation over the immense tragedy of the day.

When I saw on tv what was happening, I immediately tried to call our daughter in NYC. I knew she would be going right by the WTC on the train. I kept getting a msg that the circuits were busy. I was so worried about her! I knew her favorite shop was under the WTC and she often left early so she could stop there on the way to work. I called my husband at work and told him I couldn’t get hold of her. When the call finally came that she was alright, relief filled my heart while at the same time, I grieved along with the nation over the immense loss of life that day.

I was in Mr. Frye’s homeroom class when they called the classrooms and asked the teachers to turn on the TV’s and keep the students calm. Later that day I went to see my mom in the hospital, and because of the medicine she was on at the time, she thought our school had been bombed and was afraid something had happened to me. I was so happy to be safe, not totally understanding what had happened at the time and how it would effect our future.
