Witnesses said the two men did not talk to each other on the bus, which was going from Amarillo, Texas, to St. Louis. But they argued in the bus terminal and the suspect walked up to Hall, called him a “punk” and shot him.

The above statement is false, according to the investigators there was no altercation at all between the killer and his victim.
