Were one reared in a culture, e.g., Asia, where many different foods are consumed, such meat is considered acceptable for human consumption.

Under extreme circumstances, folks have been known to eat belts, insects, etc., when sufficiently hungry or necessary to sustain life.

Is accepted in other parts of the world.. just a social stigma that has stopped the practice in the USA. Have sampled it when in Japan at a very corporate function and found the taste and texture very pleasantly pleasing.. Have had wild game that was less palatable to my tastes.. It is really more about what is accepted by the culture of the people..it after all is just another form of protein after emotion is eliminated …

Until then, please help us keep these poor animals out of the horrific and gruesome mexican slaughterhouses you have sent them to.
 
I do not support horse slaughter, I support HUMANE horse slaughter. Now it’s time to try to put all differences and opinions aside and do what is ultimately best for unwanted, ill, and injured horses. Right now there is nobody with the funds or any other means that is willing to take care of all of them, especially in the current economy and drought.
