MOUNT VERNON — Reported break-ins of six units at Affordable Mini Storage on Main Street are the latest of several such acts reported recently.

In the latest incident, owner Dan Geiger reported six units had their locks cut off and removed. Owners were contacted, but Mount Vernon Police said no theft reports had been received from individual renters as of Thursday afternoon.

Previously, break-ins at K&P Mini Storage on Pittsburgh Avenue on Oct. 27-28 were reported to the Knox County Sheriff’s Office, and the locks of at least four units were reported cut off at Mount Vernon Storage on Harcourt Road the night of Nov. 2.

There was also a break-in recently at the old PPG building. Dan Geiger reported that the building was broken into between Oct. 21 and 26. Copper pipe was stolen, the electrical system was torn up and the building was flooded.
