    I believe that the officers asked why he was carrying it and received an acceptable answer.

    I have a Colt .45 civilian version of the M1911 semiautomatic pistol.

    Were I to openly carry it and officers asked why, I’d explain that it could not be fired eve were there a round in the chamber.

    I would also politely answer other questions germane to their inquiry.

    There’s No problem carrying a loaded weapon on your person in Ohio either. Ohio is an OPEN CARRY state.
    You only need a license to carry if you are carrying concealed.

    Only in Mount Vernon Ohio would this be considered ok or acceptable. How do they know it was unloaded? Was there a bullet in the chamber? Or better yet why was he carrying it?
