I, too, would rather kill myself than be a burden and a financial drain on my family. Such a shame we live in a place that enabled those situations to happen.

This is a very sad result caused in short by the decision made by an insurance company. A decision I am sure made based on what a study or book said was appropriate rather than based on the need of a human being.
