MOUNT VERNON — Mount Vernon Nazarene University's Schnormeier Gallery, located in historic downtown Mount Vernon's Buchwald Center, celebrated the talent and work of area high school students by featuring a special juried exhibit this month — The 2012 Knox County High School Art Exhibit.

    They are very talented. But the sad reality is that very few people will ever earn a living practicing art. Schools need to place a higher focus on mathematics, business, law and critical thinking skills. The only career for most who specialize in art, is teaching others to specialize in art.
