Sheriff’s office arrests Mount Vernon man on felony importuning charge

Detectives and deputies from the Knox County Sheriff’s Office have arrested Leo L. Jones, age 42, of Mount Vernon, on a felony importuning charge. Jones had been communicating online with what he thought was an underage male allegedly asking the boy to engage in sexual activity with him. The young male was actually a Knox County Sheriff’s Deputy. Jones was arrested when he arrived at the Mount Vernon location for the pre-arranged meeting . Additional charges are pending. The case remains under under investigation.
