MANSFIELD — On Friday and Saturday, June 28 and 29, the METRICH Enforcement Unit assisted by the Mansfield Police Department executed two search warrants which resulted in the seizure of illegal drugs and $5,000 in cash. The release from METRICH did not say where the raids took place.

The first search produced approximately 40 individual packets of heroin and a vehicle. While investigating further, detectives from the METRICH Enforcement Unit gathered more information which led to detectives drafting another search warrant for a different location.

About 4 a.m. Saturday, the METRICH Enforcement Unit, assisted by the Allied Special Operations Response Team (ASORT), the Mansfield Police Department and the Ohio State Highway Patrol K9 unit executed the second search warrant and seized 210 individual packets of heroin, a large amount of prescription medication and over $5,000 in cash. Charges will be forwarded to the Richland County Prosecutors Office and detectives are still conducting further investigations as a result of these search warrants.
