Escaped Mansfield Correctional Institution Inmate Apprehended

MANSFIELD – Officials at the Ohio Department of Rehabilitation and Correction have confirmed inmate James Myers has been apprehended in Mansfield by the Ohio State Highway Patrol at 6:42 p.m. without incident. Inmate Myers escaped from the Mansfield Correctional Institution on Wednesday, July 3. Inmate Myers has been returned to the Mansfield Correctional Institution and criminal and administrative investigations are ongoing.

MANSFIELD, Ohio (AP) — Authorities say an inmate escaped from a north-central Ohio prison where he was incarcerated for kidnapping, rape and other crimes.

Incarcerated for kidnapping, rape, aggravated burglary, weapons under disability and menacing by stalking.
