MOUNT VERNON — The Ohio State University Alumni Club of Knox County awarded four first-year scholarships and one upperclassman scholarship, recently.

Knox County Scholarship Awardees for 2013-14 are:

Whitney Nicole Hawk of Danville, a 2013 graduate of Danville High School, is the daughter of Doug and Mariah Hawk. She will attend ATI and major in ag business.

Daniel Theodore Tharp of Mount Vernon, a graduate of Mount Vernon High School, is the son of Randy and Sharon Tharp. His major is biomedical engineering.

Tyler Michael Zeller of Mount Vernon, a 2013 graduate of Mount Vernon High School, is the son of Terry and Chris Zeller. His major is computer programming.

Cierra Nicole Light of Gambier, a 2013 graduate of Mount Vernon High School, is the daughter of David and Christina Light. Her major is biology.

Kaitlyn Boggs of Fredericktown received the upperclassman scholarship. She is an OSU senior pre-med major and the daughter of Skip Boggs and Debbie Reynolds-Boggs.

The OSU Alumni Scholars Award, which is merit-based, is presented to students recommended by the Scholarship Committee of The Ohio State University Alumni Club of Knox County.
