During the Planning and Zoning Committee meeting, three resolutions were before council: A resolution stating what services the city would provide, a resolution stating that council fully supports the proposed annexation, and a resolution stating land uses and zoning buffers as they relate to the 2.72 acres.

Hawkins announces candidacy for council
Bruce Hawkins, former 3rd Ward City Council member, has filed for candidacy for City Council member at large in the May primary elections as a member of the Republican Party.

Danville’s Weckesser to be deployed to Iraq
Lance Cpl. Clinton Weckesser of Danville will be deployed to Iraq in early March. Weckesser has been in the Marine Reserves since graduation from Danville High School and Knox County Career Center in 2000. He is with the 3/25 Weapons Company and took mortar training.
