Amish home in Brown Township damaged by fire
DANVILLE -- Numbing, single-digit cold and a strong wind caused as many problems for firefighters Sunday afternoon as fighting the house fire did. Fire in a three-story, fairly new Amish home on Koppert Road, north of Danville in Brown Township near the Ashland County line, was spotted by a passing motorist about 2:15 p.m.

St. Vincent celebrates 150 years of education
MOUNT VERNON -- First established in 1856, St. Vincent de Paul School, at 150 years of age, is the oldest educational facility in continuous operation in Mount Vernon. It is also the oldest Catholic school still in existence in the Columbus Diocese.

MOUNT VERNON -- Two therapists at Hospice of Knox County are undisputed experts at giving their clients unconditional love. They don’t have to work at it or think about it or even study it, because unconditional love is what they’re all about; it’s part of their nature.

Village discussing new zoning category
FREDERICKTOWN -- The Fredericktown Village Council is considering a new zoning category called Planned Neighborhood Development. Councilman and Planning Commission member Dave Glass said adopting PND would give the village council and the planning commission control over what kind of development is planned in certain areas of the village.

Dinner raises funds for bicentennial
FREDERICKTOWN -- A community Valentine dinner-dance and fund-raiser for the village’s bicentennial celebration was held at Fredericktown High School on Saturday night.

Colts host OCC
BELLVILLE -- The Clear Fork High School wrestling team hosted the Ohio Cardinal Conference Championships on Saturday for the first time during its four-year stint in the league.

Loudonville wins Gribble’s Classic
LOUDONVILLE -- The Loudonville High School wrestling team clinched its own 14th annual Gribble’s IGA Classic on Saturday with 290 points. The Redbirds dominated the field, defeating second place River View by 82 points. Eleven of the team’s 13 wrestlers placed on their home mats.
