Home and Garden Show a success

The 2007 Knox County Home and Garden Show drew big crowds over the weekend as homeowners gathered information for their latest home improvement project, checked out the newest lines of power equipment as well items to take care of your lawn and garden.

Everything from gutter protectors, landscaping ideas, interior and exterior remodeling and even a model home were available for guests to inspect. Having the opportunity to speak with a contractor and see their work is an excellent first step in any home project, being able to speak with several contractors under one roof was an opportunity many took advantage of.

For many, the Home and Garden Show meant one thing — Buckeye football. Former Ohio State wide reliever Anthony Gonzalez was on hand Saturday signing autographs and talking to Buckeye fans. The line formed early and remained steady throughout most of the afternoon.

According to event coordinator Jody Witzky, the show brings in over 120 vendors blending local and out-of-town businesses. The former Big Bear store, which has housed the event for three years, will be leased to an unnamed business, leaving Witzky looking for a new facility for next year’s event.
