Clinton Twp. to allow business to expand
MOUNT VERNON -- The Clinton Township Trustees voted unanimously at a public hearing on Tuesday to amend the zoning for a parcel in the Buckeye Addition and allow the business located there to expand.

Bobcat sighting near Howard
HOWARD -- Millwood Road resident Don Sapp has recently had some close encounters of the endangered species kind. Since late March, Sapp has had a number of sightings of a bobcat, an extremely rare animal which has been listed as an endangered species in Ohio for many years.

Proposed rules may begin being enforced in early May
MOUNT VERNON -- The Ohio Department of Health has filed a set of proposed enforcement rules for the state’s indoor smoking ban, and the Knox County Health Department expects to begin enforcing that ban in early May.

MOUNT VERNON -- The Highland High School baseball team remained undefeated with a victory over Mount Vernon Tuesday night at Yellow Jacket field.

MV softball gets win
MOUNT VERNON -- It didn’t take long for the Mount Vernon High School softball team to show its offensive prowess on Tuesday afternon. Trisha Gentry smacked a three-run triple to right field in the bottom of the first inning to lead Mount Vernon to a 3-0 shutout over Whitehall. The Yellow Jackets improve to 4-0 on the season.

Johnnies hammer Trojans, 14-4
CENTERBURG -- The offense of the Johnstown High School baseball team was on a roll on Tuesday afternoon against the host Centerburg Trojans. So much so that the only thing that was able to slow it down was darkness. The game was called after six innings to give the Johnnies a 14-4 victory, and their second Mid-Buckeye Conference win in as many days.
