Police investigating break-in

MOUNT VERNON — Mount Vernon Police are investigating an apparent break-in at the First-Knox National Bank branch office on Blackjack Road.

According to the police report, officers responded to the bank at approximately 2 a.m. this morning and found that the suspects had fled the area.

Department detectives arrived at the scene and determined that the suspects had gained entry to the building; it has not yet been determined if anything was taken.

According to police, the investigation is continuing; anyone with information pertaining to the break-in is asked to contact the Mount Vernon Police Department Detective Division at 393-9536.
