MOUNT VERNON — Meeting in special session Wednesday morning, the Mount Vernon Board of Education hired Todd Allen as district coordinator of transportation/buildings and grounds, effective March 10, contingent upon a favorable BCI/FBI check and proper certification or licensure.
The board also authorized a sabbatical for Director of Business Al Haschak, taking him through to the date of his retirement. According to a press release from the school district, “This arrangement serves the mutual interests of Dr. Haschak and the board and will enable both parties to move forward on a positive note.”
Superintendent of Schools Steve Short said he will be assuming the business director’s duties for the time being; Haschak’s paid sabbatical continues through his retirement date of July 31, 2009.
