HOW DIS A spy program DO ANY THING FOR knox co/>??????????????

Submitted by ROBERT From MT VERNON, OH 65.24.53.250
Ok for the final time.
If you read the comments below,
people have no idea why we shot the satallite down. they
think we are giving up on our spy program, which apparently
has given a lot to knox co. (not sure how yet) also if we
are selves are not educated, how can we expect our children
to do the same. hence why most of us are scared for the
children of MTV. Also, what freedoms do we truly have? And
yes MTV and Knox county are hard working hillbillies...you
can debate me all you want, but the truth speaks for itself.

I think they did a wonderful job. I am amazed at some of
the comments. IN the USA we should be so Thankful for
what we have and our freedom.

It is really scarey to read some of the comments made in
answer to a very good question. One would get the
impression that Knox County is nothing more than a
'hillbilly' county with no education. How insulting./>
I think it was a great idea and a very prudent one
at that to shoot down the satellite. If the satellite is
going to be coming down anyway and not burn up thoroughly on
its' way through the atmosphere thereby risking some of our
classified information to another country - why wouldn't we
make the attempt?

i not scared for the children because of a falling
satellite. I scared because the people of know county are
ignorant to what is going on in the world. I would like to
go hunting with chaney as well, although i dont think he
would be coming back from the trip

The childhood is the romanticized dream of those asleep at
the wheel. Maybe they should deal with a flaming bus
falling from the heavens. Every day you and I gets out of
the bed and it might be the day we get blasted by a bus
bound to purgatory, that is just life my brothers. Thinking
that ol uncle Sam can shoot down our problems is a sweet
addictions that ends us up in the back alley narcotic coma.

I am shocked at some of the responses...scared for the
children of Knox county? I was proud when I heard we nailed
the satellite...do these people know that this thing was the
size of a bus and filled with fuel? Thank you for keeping
the children of Knox County from being hit by a falling
explosive bus!!

they can blow up a satellite tens of thousands of miles
away at thousands of miles per hour to almost a pin point
accuracy, but STILL CAN'T FIND OSAMA BIN LADIN!!!! WHAT'S
UP WITH THAT????

What if there wasn't any real satellite? What if it was an
attack on a peaceful alien race trying to communicate with
us? Cheney has already shown he will shoot his friend in the
face, imagine what he would do to non-humans?? I'm scared
for the Children of Knox County.

I am also truly scared for Knox county's children. One guy
thinks we've decided to pack it up and end the spy program
by shooting down our satellites. Another thinks one
satellite costs "billions". This is all just
really sad. Hopefully everyone gets to catch American Idol
tonight! Or not. Read a book.

I'm really scared for the chidren of knox county.... not
because of obviously obtuse answers that are on here, but
because one actually thinks that the spy industry has helped
knox county. Please let me know how. One actually didnt know
why we shot it down. Seriously, all you have to do is read a
paper, of watch the news if reading hurts your brain too
much.

As far as my youngest grandson is concerned the only thing
in the sky is birds, the good lord, and Santa’s merry sleigh
and bats, which I hope we remember are not birds, and flying
squires, but I don’t think he knows of them yet. Why can’t
we be happy with that?

If we stop putting up
satellite we can stop putting up missiles, and the good
folks of Knox County can get back to worrying about real
troubles on the home front, potholes and possum dinners!/>

Shooting down a spy satellite is nothing compared to sitting
in a pine tree in 80 mph winds, cold, and able to shoot a
ground hog from 150 yards away.

What's the big
deal anyway? If we didn't shoot the satellite down and it
fell in the middle of NYC then we would all be upset over
that, instead we're commenting on the govenment doing the
right thing.

Only the US government could spend billions on a spy
sattlelite that doesn't work. Then spend millions more to
shoot it down. Then claim "look how great we are"
we need more funding.

It is good to see that the United States was finally able to
shoot down a satellite. They are beging to catch up with the
Chinese. I think they should continue to make advancments in
order to try and become a top military power.

Why is the US govt. ending the Spy program? Even with my
pea sized brain, I don’t think it is the best idea. The spy
industry has been a good provider to the folks of Knox
county, and even a few of the leeches of morrow have
benefited as well. My heart drops with newest news of the
next satellite being shot down by fed govt., I’m fed up, we
will all be in the poor house if this continues.

I am amazed by some of the responses. It seems that some
didn't know that it was one of our own spy satellites that
was falling out of orbit. The USS Lake Erie, which by the
way operstes with a Chinese ship, is the only Aegus equiped
ship I know of that has the equipment. They have recently
shown an ability to shoot down two targets at the same time.
Before they shot it they knew where it will fall, which is
a simple formula using speed and altitude, most 8th graders
of today could have figures it out. I know first hand that
the programs they use are not going to hit the wrong thing.
I worked on the first generation programs for 15 years. You
can rest easy they were 99% sure before they shot that it
was going to get it.

I'm glad they did it. We all know that China is spying on us
to figure out ways to steal more U.S. jobs. It was a good
display of force. We showed them that we are not affraid to
shoot things in outerspace and if they ever figure out how
to reach outerspace we'll shoot them down to protect
American space program jobs.
