GAMBIER -- Sometimes it is worth a little extra effort to find a special place off the beaten path. One such place is the Olin Gallery at Kenyon College, tucked away deep in the Olin Library on the south side of campus, next to Rosse Hall.

MOUNT VERNON -- After learning about what actually goes on in a Gallup poll, Mount Vernon High School students in Jeff Jarosz's class put their knowledge of statistics to work and conducted their own poll to try and predict the outcome of the Democratic primaries in the state of Ohio.

MOUNT VERNON -- The characters in the Newspaper in Education mystery story "History Thief"come to life through the talents of illustrator Ian Moss. Moss, a graduate of the Columbus College of Art and Design, works in the ad design department of the Mount Vernon News and also does freelance illustrations for children's books.

GAMBIER -- The village's new dog park is drawing people from in and outside of Gambier, but it's probably the dogs that enjoy it the most.

Carroll, Owen to perform at fair
MOUNT VERNON -- Up-and-coming country music stars Jason Michael Carroll and Jake Owen will be the featured entertainment at the 2008 Knox County Fair. The pair will perform on Friday, July 25, at 8 p.m. at the grandstand.
