Toddlers found after search

JELLOWAY — Two young boys were found all right after being missing near Jelloway for about two hours Thursday evening.

The parents reported two boys, ages 3 and 4, had wondered into the woods near their Baldner Road residence. The Eastern Knox County Joint Fire District, as well as the Knox County Sheriff’s Office and College Township Fire Department, and nearly 50 friends and neighbors located the children about three-fourths of a mile away from their home after searching for nearly an hour.

According to EKCJFD Fire Chief Larry Stimpert, the department cordoned off the woods and fields near the area and brought their thermal imaging camera. Valley ATV provided four-wheelers to help in the search. The children were chilled when found at 6:51 p.m., and checked out by medics on the scene.

“The people really pulled together and did what was best,” said Stimpert. “The fire department wants to thank the people who came out and helped.”
