Kokosing helicopter crash under investigation
FREDERICKTOWN -- A Kokosing Construction helicopter crashed after experiencing problems while landing at the Pike County airport on Wednesday evening around 7 p.m., according to company spokesman Ron Cochran.

Judge hands out sentences to seven
MOUNT VERNON -- Common Pleas Judge Otho Eyster handed out sentences to seven people on Thursday.

Commissioners discuss variety of projects
MOUNT VERNON -- The Knox County Board of Commissioners had several meetings Thursday which ranged from bids for sludge removal, to improving development prospects in the area, to clearing up potential future property disputes with a developer on South Main Street.

No changes made as official votes counted
MOUNT VERNON -- The Knox County Board of Elections has released the official results of the March 4 elections. Although the outcomes of all of the races and issues were the same, there were increases in the number of votes cast due to the inclusion of provisional ballots in the official results.

Antique shop opens up downtown
MOUNT VERNON -- People taking a stroll downtown, perhaps to enjoy the slightly warmer weather, may give in to the urge to wander into a new business at 225 S. Main St. For those who do, they'll find a space filled with old military memorabilia, Victorian antiques and more than a few pieces of Mount Vernon history.

Jackets hope to build on success
MOUNT VERNON -- Mount Vernon High School hopes to start its track season strong on Saturday. Both the boys and girls track and field teams will be heading to Watkins Memorial for an invitational meet.

Bush wraps up solid career
MOUNT VERNON -- Coming from a small high school, Lindsay Bush knew playing basketball in college was a big deal. Bush, a 2004 graduate of East Knox High School, got an opportunity to play for Bluffton University, and she hasn't let it go to waste.
