MILLWOOD — A Canton truck driver is in critical condition in Ohio State University Medical Center after a wreck Monday morning. The Ohio State Highway Patrol said Terry Billman, 54, was eastbound on U.S. 36 at 9:51 a.m. when his rig overturned on a curve, one mile west of Millwood.
The patrol said the rig rolled onto its left side, sliding across and off the left side of the road into a ditch. Billman was injured when the driver’s side of the truck cab slammed into the pavement. The truck was loaded with recycleable materials, paper and wire, according to the patrol. The crash is still under investigation.
MOUNT VERNON — Bryon McClain, 18, Edison, told Mount Vernon Police he doesn’t remember what happened when his pickup swerved off North Sandsky Street and hit an AEP power pole Monday morning. Police said he was southbound when the pickup hit the pole, with the right front corner causing heavy damage to the pole and the vehicle.
McClain was taken to Knox Community Hospital for treatment; he was later released. He was charged with failure to control.
