DANVILLE -- Knox County Catholics say they were pleased with Pope Benedict XVI's recent visit to the United States.

Investigation to begin into allegations against teacher
MOUNT VERNON -- After an extended executive session Tuesday morning, the Mount Vernon City Schools Board of Education and administration decided to have an independent party investigate allegations made against eighth-grade science teacher John Freshwater.

GAMBIER -- The Canadian pianist Glenn Gould wrote a radio show in the 1970s called "The Idea of North."In it, Gould assembled a collage of interviews, sound effects, music and narration to explore what the idea of the Far North had become to humankind. Unemployment rate rises in county
MOUNT VERNON -- Unemployment in Knox County rose in the month of March, according to data released Tuesday by the Ohio Department of Job and Family Services.

Johnnies take control of MBC
JOHNSTOWN -- The two softball leaders of the Mid-Buckeye Conference met at Johnstown High School Tuesday night for a very well-played game. Both schools hit well, but in the end the Johnnies outscored the Utica Redskins to win, 7-4.
