AMITY — Ohio Division of Wildlife officers, assisted by local police agencies, raided two homes in Mount Vernon and one in Amity on Wednesday, and confiscated deer and turkey meat, weapons and hunting equipment. In Amity, officials found 75 packages of deer meat.
The searches were made under sealed warrants. The charges, all misdemeanors, will go to Municipal Court Prosecutor Bill Smith, according to Knox County Wildlife Officer Mike Miller. The names won’t be released until the alleged offenders are charged.
Assisting the nine wildlife officers were Knox County Sheriff’s Deputy Tom Durbin, Mount Vernon Police Sgt. Fred Gerber and officers from the Knox County Dog Pound.
