LOUDONVILLE -- A record number of riders turned out for the sixth annual Mohican Mountain Bike 100 on Saturday. In the end, however, it was a two-man race to the finish.

MOUNT VERNON -- Sunny skies and cooling breezes graced Yellow Jacket Stadium for the 148th annual commencement of the Mount Vernon High School on Sunday, as 314 seniors received their diplomas in a celebration of excellence in education.

DANVILLE -- Forty-two Danville High School students received theirdiplomas on Saturday. Following an invocation by student council president Kayla Hughes, Danville teacher Patrice Vincent delivered the commencement address.

JOHNSTOWN -- Ninety-four young people entered the Donald E. Butt Memorial Gymnasium of Johnstown-Monroe High School as students Saturday evening, and left as graduates walking toward adulthood.

CENTERBURG -- One hundred and two members of the class of 2008 said goodbye to Centerburg High School on Saturday.

FREDERICKTOWN -- Academics and athletics, opportunity and adventure, roots and wings were themes woven throughout 2008 commencement ceremonies for Fredericktown's Class of 2008. Eighty-four students joined the ranks of Fredericktown High School alumni on Saturday night.

PICKERINGTON -- Danville High School softball fans will see something they have never seen since the inception of the program. On Saturday, the team advanced to the Final Four of the state tournament for the first time ever with a 2-0 victory over Ashland Crestview.
