DANVILLE — Danville Village Council approved the official lease of Memorial Park to the East Knox County Joint Fire District Association for use during annual Danville-Howard Turkey Festival, June 12-14.
Council member Sandy Ridgway advised council that Danville’s first monthly farmers market will be held on Saturday, June 21, from 9 a.m. to noon. Ridgway said no potential vendors have filled out any applications to date. Applications are available at the village municipal office.
Village Administrator Robert Shipley reported that work had begun on sidewalk repair near Memorial Park. Shipley said the project was “going really well,” and that construction would soon be moving toward the center of town.
“It’s a good indication of how the rest of the project will go,” said Shipley.
Danville Council’s next meeting is scheduled for June 16 at 8 p.m.
