MOUNT VERNON — Ninety-five thousand students around the country participated in the National French Test, sponsored by The American Association of Teachers of French, in March. Of those, 23,311 competed in the Level 1 category.
Three Mount Vernon High School sophomores are National French Test bronze medal winners. They are Michael Hayes, French I, seventh in the nation and fifth in Ohio; Gabriel Lozano, French I, seventh in the nation and fifth in Ohio; and Donald Shobe, French I, eighth in the nation and sixth in Ohio.
Other state winners from MVHS include Tyler Kempton, Krystal Hinchcliff and Matthew Omahan in French I; Liz Doernhoefer, Conor Narovec, Christopher Omahan, Christina Stone and Conor Tazewell in French II; Sara Hill in French III; Luis Rodriguez in French IV; and Charles Austin Kasserman, Daniel Kasper and Christopher Jaymes in French V.
