Commissioners discuss use of county vehicles
MOUNT VERNON -- Meeting with Juvenile Judge James Ronk on Thursday, the Knox County Commissioners and Ronk discussed the use of county vehicles by employees of the juvenile court.

Registering to vote an important right
HOWARD -- Registering to vote -- and then actually voting -- are important rights and responsibilities of citizens in the nation. The nonpartisan Youth Outreach Program in Knox County recently took that message to East Knox High School, when Carol Rubenstein and Sarah Goslee-Reed visited juniors and seniors in Doug Smith's current events and citizenship class.

No poisonous snakes to be found in Knox County
MOUNT VERNON -- If you happen to encounter a snake while in Knox County, don't be worried, it's not poisonous. According to Troy Cooper, extension educator with the Ohio State University Extension, there are no poisonous snakes in the county.

AKRON -- If the old saying "Offense wins games, but defense wins championships"holds true, the Danville High School softball may be in a great position. The Blue Devils put on a defensive show against Convoy Crestview in the Division IV State Semifinal, making big play after big play.

AKRON -- The atmosphere was electric and the crowd maintained a steady roar as the Danville High School softball team advanced to the Division IV State Championship game on Saturday with an impressive 3-2 victory over Convoy Crestview.
