Bicycle tour stops in Mount Vernon - VIDEO
MOUNT VERNON -- 31 women from the United States, Australia, and Canada have traveled across the country along the Underground Railroad route. During their journey they stopped in Mount Vernon on Friday after riding 75 miles from Dublin, Ohio. The women will end their 2,000 miles tour in Niagara Falls, Canada.

County dogs get second chance
MOUNT VERNON -- Promptly at 5 a.m., on a dark, rainy morning, the Rescue Waggin'-- a large customized truck -- rolled into a parking lot on Columbus Road, at the former animal shelter building. Volunteer dog rescuers Peggy Kimple and Marla McCutchen were waiting.

Perkins'appeal denied
MOUNT VERNON -- The 5th District Court of Appeals upheld a local ruling this week and thus denied Mount Vernon Police Sgt. Mark Perkins in his suit to claim the position of Chief of Police.
