State champions! Pitching helps lead Blue Devils to best season ever
AKRON -- Not many pitchers can tell the story that Danville softball pitcher Baihley Presley will now be able to tell. Presley was on the mound and got the win on Danville's first state championship team Saturday, and will carry that win as a badge of honor with her for the rest of her life.

State champions! Danville softball team beats Triad 4-2 to capture school's first title
AKRON -- Open up the record books, there is a new addition to be written into area history. On Saturday, the Danville Blue Devils softball team made school and county history by winning the first-ever State Division IV title with a 4-2 victory over the Triad High School Cardinals. It is Danville's first state title in the history of the school in any sport, and Knox County's first softball state title in any division.

Family fun holds the day at regatta
MOUNT VERNON -- Despite the humid weather's threat of rain, the Rotary-Kiwanis Regatta at Foundation Park drew hundreds of people on Saturday with a slate of free events for children and adults. Rotary and Kiwanis organizers were joined by staffers from the Ohio Department of Natural Resources and the Knox County Park District, who ran a variety of contests, booths and demonstrations.
