MOUNT VERNON — The following is the street closing plan for today and Tuesday for the GOBA — Ariel Classic Bike Race.
Today, “no parking” bags will be placed around Public Square beginning at 5 p.m. Food concessions will begin to set up at 10 p.m. The square will be closed at 11:30 p.m.; the drive-through at National City Bank will be open.
Tuesday’s schedule is as follows: No parking on South Main Street, from Public Square to Gambier Street, beginning at 7 a.m. and the street will close at 9 a.m. No parking on Vine Street, from Mulberry Street to Gay Street, beginning at 1 p.m. and the street will close at 2 p.m.; the drive-through at First-Knox National Bank will be open. The Social Club city lot and the racetrack will have meters bagged at 5 a.m. and there will be no parking after 3 p.m. West High Street from Mulberry to Gay streets will be closed at 3 p.m.
The following streets will be closed at 5 p.m.: West High Street from Sandusky to Mulberry streets, South Mulberry Street from Chestnut to Gambier streets, Vine Street from Sandusky to Gay streets, and Mechanic Street from Chestnut to Gambier streets.
The following streets will remain closed until midnight: South Main from Public Square to Gambier Street, Vine Street from Mulberry to Gay streets, and Square and Spokes; all other streets will reopen after the race ends.
